ABOUT
Beech Tree Campsite

IMG_7997.jpg

Hi, we’re Jenny and John and we’ve owned Beech Tree Farm for over 30 years. We love our corner of Dartmoor National Park where we rear Ruby Red suckler cows and sheep. Over the years we have developed this beautiful land, building a farmhouse, log cabin, stables, extensive vegetable garden and now a campsite. We enjoy spending time with our family around the campfire and eating great food, which is why we wanted to create an idyllic spot for other families and friends to enjoy.

Come and escape the daily grind, slow down and immerse yourself in nature.

We hope you enjoy your stay!

The Surrounding Area

The site is very private with good access off a rural lane just 10 minutes from the picturesque town of Moretonhampstead and 30 minutes from the bustling city of Exeter.

Nearby is the wonderful landmark Blackingstone Rock, which is easily reached and climbed with 360 degrees views over the far-reaching countryside. With Dartmoor to the south and Exmoor in the far North, it is a truly wonderful spot to experience the Sunrise or Sunset.

One mile down the lane are three reservoirs/lakes, one for fly fishermen only (booked at Southwest Lakes) AND the other two for course fishing and peaceful walks around their perimeters.

The high moor of Dartmoor is only a few miles away with endless Tors to visit and walks for all abilities. There are many places to enjoy wild swimming, horse riding and many other outdoor activities. The local town of Moretonhampstead provides all the usual amenities and also boasts a beautiful open-air swimming pool.

With beautiful beaches just a short drive away,  we recommend the wonderful seaside towns of Teignmouth, Dawlish, Sidmouth and Exmouth (Voted Best Fish and Chips in the U.K).
